References

All references mentioned in the manuscript should be listed in the reference section of the manuscript. Authors are encouraged to use reference manager software such as Zotero, Endnote, or Mendeley and conform with the APA 7th edition citation and referencing style. Authors are likewise encouraged to use current literature (not more than 5 years) unless these are vital and still relevant to the study.

Statements and Declarations

The CLSU IJEDS is committed to uphold transparency, research integrity, accountability and replicability. Therefore, each article must include the following sections:

  • Acknowledgement: Acknowledge those who provided intellectual assistance, technical help (including with writing and editing), and those who helped with the research but did not qualify for authorship.
  • Ethical Statement: For research articles involving human participants, authors must include a description of all necessary ethics approvals, including the name of the ethics committee, its respective institution, and the approval number given. Additionally, all research subjects must have provided appropriate informed consent and details on how this was obtained must be detailed in the manuscript. If requirement for consent was waived by the ethics committee this should be explained in the manuscript. If no ethical considerations were made, this should also be clearly stated.
  • Conflict of Interest Statement: Disclose any potential conflicts of interest related to the research, authorship, or publication of the manuscript. Even if there are no conflicts, please indicate that the authors declare no competing interests.
  • Declaration of Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies: If Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool or service has been used, state the what (Name of AI tool/service) and why it was used. If not, this should also be clearly stated. See the ethical use of AI in manuscripts here.
  • Data Availability: Authors are required to provide a data availability statement (DAS), detailing where data associated with the paper can be found and how it can be accessed. If data cannot be made open, authors should state why in the data availability statement. The DAS should include the hyperlink, DOI or other persistent identifier associated with the data set(s), or information on how the data can be requested from the authors. Templates are also available to support authors.
  • Author Contributions: All authors should have contributed to the manuscript substantially. Elsevier, a premier scientific publishing company, encourages authors to outline their contributions using the CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) system. Check full details here.
  • Funding: If funding has been provided for the research, list funding sources to facilitate compliance with the funder’s requirements. If no funding has been provided, this should also be clearly stated.
